Valleys- Working Men’s Club

It’s 3am on a Saturday and I’m dancing and I’m sweating, and the music is blaring. But when I open my eyes the club disappears and I’m back in my familiar Uni room. The success of Working Men’s Club song ‘Valleys’ is its ability to transport you to somewhere extraordinary.

With this track Working Men’s club skillfully combines their signature heavy, gritty sound with airy synths, reminiscent of Madonna’s Vogue to create a dirty sounding electronic hit.

Singer-songwriter Syd Minsky-Sargeant’s pessimistic yet hypnotizing lyrics inspired by growing up in his hometown of Todmorden create an overall industrial tone and on an even deeper level discusses the misery of growing up in forgotten northern towns.

Creating a busyness with its many layers of sound, the sheer noise, and deep bass of ‘Valleys’ is sure to itch your brain in just the right places.
